Regeneration can be read and understood as a ratio:
when the forces that build life outweigh the forces that wear it down.

ABOUT THE BOOK

Three generations, one law

More Than It Takes is a memoir with a law folded inside it, handed on the way it was received: inside a life. It begins in two full households, a hill farm in the old heart of Moldavia and the high hay meadows of Breaza on the Bukovina plateau, then follows the nomadic road of the honey flow across Romania, hive by hive, with a father who healed animals and kept bees and a mother whose trade was the honest correction of sight, until a few poisoned seasons and the winters behind them emptied half the yard. The grandson who grew up among all of it carries the question they left.

The science is carried inside the story, felt before it is named. Out of it rises a measurable law, the Regenerative Ratio, and a destination: Biocivitas, a way of living in which giving back more life than is taken becomes the ordinary thing.

PART IThe Rooted Year

Two full households in the hills of Moldavia and Bukovina, where autumn closes on more than enough, and a grandmother’s saying holds the law before it has a number.

PART IIThe Road of Blooms

The father, the hives, and the honey flow followed across Romania, while the bloom quietly thins, until one poisoned field and a hard winter empty half the yard.

PART IIIThe Reckoning & the Mending

The grown grandson returns to the silent hives, learns to read land and colony honestly, names the ratio at last, and follows its weakest strand toward Biocivitas.
